Doc will not hire anybody that has the ability to make him look bad, and it doesn't take much.

talked to someone i know in the coaching biz, he said freddie kitchens is still the qb coach for the cardinals, that he hadn't heard anything about byron going there, but if so it's probably in an off-season only intern way like he did last year.

Yeah if this is true, it isn't official. Neither the Cardinals, Byron or any news organizations have commented on the hiring.

On a somewhat Herd related item as to our guys/grads in pro sports, Woody W. stated tonight on the postgame show that Tamar Slay had planned on being in town Saturday for the UTEP game when Loop will no doubt pass him as the all time Herd leader in successful 3 point shots made.

It seems Tamar had just been notified that he had to be somewhere, a NBA game site perhaps, at the time of the UTEP game as part of his position with the NBA.  I think Tamar is being trained, internships, etc., along with some other minority ex-players, to get them into NBA coaching and other management positions with NBA teams.

We all need to pull for former Herd greats like Byron and Tamar in their endeavors with their respective pro leagues and hope it ends with them landing some lucrative non-playing positions on down the road!

that's from last may. he worked with them in minicamps and camp, then left once the season started. i suspect he's doing the same thing again this year.

Sciullo now works at Hampton Township School District as a Paraprofessional helping students learn in their core classes. He recently became head coach of the neighboring Deer Lakes High School varsity football team. He also attended Shaler Area School District for High School. In 2015 Sciullo was named Pittsburgh Steelers High School Football Coach of the Week.

Byron is replacing Kitchens who is replacing Stump Mitchell.  Stump was HC at Morgan State for 2 years in the 90s.

Leftwich, who just turned 37, worked with the Cardinals last summer as a coaching intern. He was drafted by the Jaguars and played three seasons in Jacksonville before later spending time with the Steelers, Falcons and Buccaneers. He last played in 2012.

Per the report, Freddie Kitchens will move from quarterbacks coach with the Cardinals to running backs coach.

Will be interesting as DC is Byron's home town.  I know for a fact that the Washington Post gave him some good publicity and coverage while he was here quarterbacking the Herd.  Think he is still admired in the DC area as being a local kid and a role model who worked and persevered on and off the field and made it in both college and the NFL.
