We'll see what happens but based on past precidence, we still have a better resume than FIU.
In 2012, we swept UCF at home (they didn't score the entire series), we got a better seed than them for the conference tournament, we made it to the finals (they lost in the first round), and they got a bid while we did not.
Our RPI will still be about 15-20 spots better than FIU's. I truthfully think we should both be in. Logically, you guys are right with FIU/Marshall, but the past decisions of the selection committee haven't matched that train of thought.
We could get left out. Anything can happen when you leave it in the hands of the committee. That said, our resume warrants a high 3-seed. We probably were nearing the 2-seed line going into the conference tournament.
I'll be watching Sunday night at 10 on ESPN2. I think Knoxville, Harrisonburg, Ann Arbor, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Oxford or Auburn could be destinations for the Herd next weekend. Or if they get a true 3-seed, they could wind up shipped out west to Tucson, Eugene or Los Angeles. Regardless, I have created flexibility in my schedule to travel next weekend should I desire to take a road trip.
