During the summer, Vedvik worked on his placekicking - something he originally came for as a freshman before being made the heir apparent to former punter Tyler Williams and focusing on those duties. With the summer of work, Vedvik attained consistency in the kicking department to go along with his strong leg, and he put himself in position to battle for the starting spot.

As the preseason progressed, so did Vedvik, whose confidence in his abilities seemed to peak as camp wore on.

Because of that work and consistency, Vedvik earned the top repetitions as Marshall got into game preparation for Saturday's opener against Miami (Ohio), a 6:30 p.m. kickoff at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

  • As I said earlier, a pulled muscle would wreak havoc on our kicking game.  I know we have a couple of frosh on roster but that doesn't make me feel good.
"Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity; they seem more afraid of life than of death"  – James F. Byrnes

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

I'm with you as we have seen so many games are won and lost based on the kicking game.
