  • Yes he got the same (1) 4th place vote as Katie Sowers - 49ers seasonal assistant. Just stop with this Leftwich can be our new OC stuff, it isn't going to happen. Might as well want Randy Moss to be our WR coach and think Vinny Curry would retire early to coach our DL.

  • Was watching this with the Palm Beach Group, I stood up and started shouting with Byron not even back in the picture yet. People must have thought I was crazy. Not an X's and O's guy but after 50+ years of watching football a person ought to have a feel for what is about to happen.

Ditto being in the MU section of the stands at Akron in 1998, realizing Derricott was sneaking up getting ready for a pick in the flat before AKR QB Butchie Washington even released the ball.

"I'm small. He ( SoCar QB Anthony Wright ) never saw me." - Daninelle Derricott

  • I think the thing I miss is that Pruett's team were always good for 1 tick play/added wrinkle per game.  All it takes is one play to try to trick someone and show up on scouting reports... and opponents have to waste time prepping for it.

Other than the onside kick vs. FAU this year, what did we do this year that was really off the rails?

2014. Shuler to Cato Vs. NIU, but it was called back for something or another.

First, I've said that it's not likely for a number of reasons, and that I'm not persuaded that it's the right time for Byron to even be considered... maybe after this next something position, whatever it turns out to be.

But second... might've jumped the gun there a bit... nothing in what micdrass posted that tried to push that agenda.

Or, maybe you just think Herd fans shouldn't be interested to know that he showed up in the list (?).

Granted, it's not saying all that much that one person of many gave BL a 4th place vote. But all the same, it falls under "that's cool" column from over here where I sit.

You forgot the 2nd one,  LOL   Where Chase had a back to his left.  And then Chase goes up to the center and goes down the line like he is changing the play.  And when he gets to the end, they direct snap to the running back.  Chase is used as the motion man in the play.  Problem is..They screwed it up because there was ZERO noise during the play and the other team realized that there was NO need for him to move along the line screaming out a audible like they couldn't hear from the crowd noise that Doc and crew can generate from Marshall's plays these days..

  • 225 total votes, BL gets one, probably from his ex-head coach.  Hardly a ringing endorsement.

  • Ya know, you're right, it's not exactly a ringing endorsement, but then again, who pushed the sourpoose button and made so many round here more anal retentive than normal?

There IS, after all another way of looking at it...

What is there, maybe 300+ assistant coaches in the NFL, and about 125 FBS coaches, and then maybe another 1200+ assistant coaches under them...

Yes, it's cool that Byron after just one year of service was at least in the list somewhere. Nothing more nothing less.

  • I didn't think a QB was eligle to be a receiver unless he was lined up in the shotgun formation.

  • Appears some folks might have scanned instead of reading. (Not that we all don't do that sometimes.)

Arians was not one of the voters.

Maybe it was Randy (?). That's my bet.
