    Sports in brief: Marshall season tickets to be mailed this weekend

    HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University football season tickets will be mailed to buyers this weekend, the athletic department announced.

    Season tickets are still available from $100 to $545. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-THE-HERD, online at www.herdzone.com, or by visiting the ticket office in Cam Henderson Center.

    The ticket office will be have its final choose-a-seat event on Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

    In the middle of Huntington, West Virginia, there is a river. Next to this river, there is a steel mill. And next to the steel mill, there's a school.     • Picked mine up Friday at the cookout, got them sorted an in my glove-box in the car.

    Those handing out the season tickets at the event said the season's sales had gone well; isn't that always the answer though?

    Unless they are significantly higher, we will never know.  We know that last year's basketball season tix sales were way up but mum was the word from our athletic dept.

    • Got mine in the mail. I really am hoping this is the year Doc puts it together and lets the OC run the offense. I really dislike Lambert as our DC, dumb hire, i think our defense is in for a #90 ranked type season.
