  • Let’s get at least 5000 Herd fans at the Navy game.  Sends a strong message of support for this team and could propel to a special season.

If there are no capacity restrictions and tickets are available we will be going for sure. That bowl game was a blast. Definitely worth the experience to return and see The new look Herd take on Navy in their home stadium.

  • I agree...that was one of my favorite bowl games, good opponent, nice crowd at the game and we had fun going out in DC.

  • Navy didn't allow a single fan in football this year and opted out on basketball altogether

That bowl game was the only game I can recall where punting from our opponent’s 38 yard-line time after time actually led to a solid victory.  I agree it was a great setting.  My wife and I are looking forward to being present on Labor Day weekend.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.  My comment was about Navy not playing basketball this year.  The men's basketball game today is what I watched.  It was played at Navy.  Navy beat Army 69-62.

I apologize for the error. I hadn't checked their status but I know I read earlier that they anticipated not playing

  • Thanks for bringing this game up, it wasn't even on my radar. My wife and I are now planning a family get-together in DC for the holiday weekend. It should be an absolute blast. I'm crossing my fingers that fall sports will be normal with tickets available. There should be about a dozen of us.

Only cause he nailed like 3 coffin corners inside the 5. That was the best display of punting I've ever seen.

  • A great place to visit, but a very long way from Cincy. We'd probably go though, if allowed.  I'm, disappointingly, betting one more year of what 2020 was in sports.

It may not be back to normal but I expect at least 50% capacity for games. Heard a guy the other day talking about the vaccine and herd immunity would make a huge dent by April. Numbers already have been coming down a lot over the last week or so. I really think we have turned the corner and by mid summer we will see a huge difference.

[/quote]Hope you're right, and yes, I am taking the particular site of this game into consideration, as well as others so located, as I suspect so much repeat in the coming year. More opening up in certain places, still highly controlled in others.

Don't know if you've watched much this week, but now the new regime is saying that the vaccine won't defray the need for masks, social distancing, and managing gatherings for months to come; have to wait and see what the results are. Not a strong vote of confidence from Washington in the recent days.

Agree.  And then there's this new variant that just shutdown University of Michigan for two weeks.  https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/30767499/michigan-wolverines-halt-athletic-activities-2-weeks-following-positive-tests-new-coronavirus-strain
