  • I think Dan should have stepped down after the loss to Rice last year in the tourney.  He had the hip thing going on.  We had the COVID crap going on.  Some seniors leaving and transferring.  A million reasons to hang it up last year and everyone would have cheered him and appreciated all he'd done for us.  And it wouldn't have looked like he was lost.  That was the sweet spot and was still a year closer to his tournament win, keeping that fresh in our memories.

Now people will remember this season and likely next season and he'll look like an old fool who let the game pass him by and couldn't put together a winning team.  He should just retire.  He can hang out here and be a part of the team and community, but give the reigns to someone that might be able to whip these guys into players, while finding his own guys.

  • I will keep it just this simple, from the beginning of the season Dan has sung the praises of Goran and and continues to start him although he wouldn?t be a starter at the DII level anywhere else. Dan is an incredibly lazy recruiter and it?s finally caught up to him.

Don Turney was a pretty decent basketball player; certainly not a "Turkey"!  ;D

I was at a VERY good age during the Asheville day , I had a blast ! The Asheville arena has been remodeled and it really looks good , I like the smaller , Field House type of places to watch basketball.

Kay Huckabay agrees with this statement.

  • Those Huck teams were a blast.

I was a student back then. The Cam was packed every night, and loud. Students had great seats and we had to get there an hour before game time to get a seat. I don't think I have ever been in arena as loud as it was for Marquette. My ears were ringing after that game. Action Jackson, Captain Marshall, the ghost of John Marshall, great times!

  • Poor Tom Curry, the SoCon refs wouldn't let him play.  Most games he'd be stuck on the bench after getting a few touch fouls.  The SoCon back them was a guard oriented league and it felt like the refs were not going to let Tom dominate the league.  By the time Tom was a senior they had him almost shell shocked.
