  • Defense is almost just as good as the past few years?clean up some tackling and wrap up instead of just dipping shoulders.  Get to the QB just a little faster than we did tonight and we should see an exciting defense.  My vote is still out on Fancher.  He Made some great throws but two costly fumbles  that would have cost us the game against a bigger opponent.  The WRs just way to many drops this evening.  Tricket needs to be more creative the entire game.  The double pass was great and got momentum flowing our way but he needs to be a bit more imaginative.  Just my opinion take it or leave it.

  • History tells us that the biggest jump for a team is from game one to game two. Let's see if The Herd continues to improves the rest of the season. I am willing to wait and see if we improve.

  • Good 4th quarter. The trick play changed the game. Let's see how this staff works the players with the bye week. Happy we won but also still a little skeptical.

This is 100% how I feel.

  • Those fumbles and a coupla other plays showed that Ali and Francher were often not on the same page in regards to right and left and hand off, fake, or RPO.

I said that last week, too, when Fancher had to keep moving Ali to the right place before the snap.  It's causing busted plays and Cam has to improvise and is doing it well.

Agree about the trick play. Too,I felt their missed field goal really changed the momentum of the game. At that point they seemed to have taken control and coming up empty slowed them down.

  • I guess we saw last night who they went to when a 2nd QB was needed. Though for only 1 play they showed confidence in throwing on his only play instead of a simple hand off

I thought this was also a key moment.  I thought for sure we would just hand it off but instead he dropped a pass in for positive yards.

Great observation! I guess the debate is over on who is the backup at the QB position?

Yes, and I noted it happening yesterday when Payne was in also..  fancher went left with the ball , Payne went right. I?m guessing it?s the offense not on same page with play calling vs players not knowing plays.  Regardless, shouldn?t be happening 2nd game.

  • It is a quality win for our program. But the offensive line is still going to be a big question. There were a lot of plays during the game where a defensive end would run free untouched into the backfield. The lack of push on short yardage runs throughout most of the game is glaring.

I am pleased with most of the aspects of the other positions on our team.

This. I think we will be okay on Defense, QB, RB, and WR's. The question marks are special teams and OLine. The way the Oline got bullied at times is a huge concern.

  • The offensive line isn't that bad. They were talking about the Michigan and ECU game the other day. And said the ECU line was extremely stout and played very well against a Michigan team that is loaded and expected to be in the playoff. The ECU D line was a handful but we finally wore them down. That is impressive imo.

. I agree about Tricket. It?s like he is trying to keep Cam from making mistakes.  Time to grab him by the back of the shorts and throw him in the deep end and see if he swims.
