  • For J Goddard to have such an impact last year and not get drafted within the first 3 rounds is foolish.  He will be one of those ESPN commercials in a couple of years like Brady and Zach Thomas that criticizes teams for not drafting them.  I mean, the guy led the nbation in sacks, tackles for loss, and was fifth in forced fumbles.  I have never seen a defensive player dominate a game the way he did in many games last year.  I feel for JG because he plays with such intensity and passion that I'm sure it hurts him to see all these guys go in front of him.

  • I think Dallas might take him in the 4th round if he is still there.

But it is a shame he has been passed over .................

I truly believe he is the next Marshall star in the NFL.

  • The Browns seem to like him, especially with their new defensive scheme.  And that's one of the reasons he's probably going to go on day 2 instead of day 1--- he'll fit a particular scheme; as such, he couldn't be utilized by every team out there; that takes a swipe at his draft value.

Still, for a team to get him in a later round, he'll be a steal.

  • I think him going in the 4th or 5th round is about right. If you think of it from the teams point of view. He only had one standout year, he had off the field issues weather they were just or not, and was not fantasic at the combine, and came from a small school who does not have a history of great defensive players. These are all the things the teams are thinking. It is important that he get into camp and give it a 100% and I think he will be fine. He is a good player. Better then a 4th round pick but he has all those things holding him back. One player no one is talking about is earl charles. I think this kid will make an excellent pro and will end up being the best pro in this marshall class. Mark it down.

  • So much for the 4th round...

We're in the 5th and still nothing...for Goddard or any Marshall player for that matter.

  • I won't argue with the statement made about Earl.  He has shown what he can do given a solid run blocking O-line.  Earl just has that untaught ability to bounce off tackles and keep rumbling north-south.  Even though he was only here for a short time, I think many fans became very fond of him.  Personally, I had all the confidence in the world in Charles.  It's a shame that he battled injuries most of the way through his Senior season.

  • Yes, I like Charles as well.  In addition, I believe he can play on special teams which should make him somewhat more marketable.

In regards to Goddard, what is his forty time? I heard his bench was his best event.  If not drafted, he'll be invited to an NFL camp as a free agent.

  • I think Goddard will get drafted but I do not think davis will. Extremely slow for a wideout and had a big problem with drops. I think the akron game will be his downfall. Key drops cost us that game and a possible macc.
