  • Mark is definately making the necessary moves to be a HC someday soon.  I used to see him, his brother and Tony Peterson running around in Caz's Tavern years ago.

OSU Defensive Coordinator Interviews At LSU
    Snyder Meets With Miles

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State defensive coordinator Mark Snyder has interviewed for the same position at Louisiana State, according to the university.

LSU athletic director Skip Bertman told The Advocate in Baton Rouge, La., that newly hired football coach Les Miles interviewed Snyder for the vacant position.

Snyder took over as defensive coordinator last season at Ohio State after Mark Dantonio left to become Cincinnati's head coach. Snyder spent three years as the Buckeyes' linebackers coach before his promotion.

Miles lost to Ohio State 33-7 in the 2004 Alamo Bowl while coaching Oklahoma State. He replaced Nick Saban at LSU after the Tigers' coach took the head coaching job with the Miami Dolphins.

Snyder is a native of Ironton, Ohio, and a 1988 graduate of Marshall.

  • With everything going down at tOSU I would think that Snyder would leap at any reasonable offer at LSU.
"I have heard people talk about the healing process - that sounds good - or closure," Dawson told the Los Angeles Times. "I don't know what closure is, but that area of my life will never be closed. But I feel alive again. I feel I can smile again."

  • That is the guy I see taking the reigns at MU when Pruett steps down. He is doing all the right things to posture himself for the position. How bout Snyder as HC and TPeterson as OC and bringing in several other ex Herd greats that are assistants at various places around the country.

  • Peterson is the OC at Minnie U right now I thought???  Why would he want the same job for less money here?  Maybe HC.  We do have a few outstanding Alums out there that could be our HC in few years.

.I agree, Gman.  Its important to have a well know name in the south for recruiting purposes.  And if he does decide to take the LSU DC job that will go a long way in helping him do that.
