I'm interested if this new, fast air raid style will take off. But it all starts with a Top Gun at QB.
Same here. The high flying offense starts with a good QB, but it also needs a good OL and WRs, the three units that have struggled the most in recent years.
Last time we tried the high flying offense it went pretty good except Holiday couldn't put together both a high flying offense and a defense capable of stopping anyone at the same time. If my memory is correct one of the seasons that Holiday ran the high flying offense he had some nation leading stat such as averaging the most snaps per game or something.
I hope that Huff is able to put together both a high flying offense and a respectable defense at the same time. One advantage Huff may have over Holiday is that after 3 or 4 seasons of defense focused recruiting, Huff should be starting in a better position than Holiday on defense. Maybe that will soften the blow of the coaching staff devoting so much time to implementing a new offensive scheme and focusing practice time on executing it. Worse case scenario would be that Huff doesn't have the players to implement a high flying offense and defense takes another step back.
I see several similarities between Huff and Holiday including both implementing a new pass oriented offensive scheme at a time when their defensive coordinator is questionable and neither being able to consistently recruit a good QB.
