  • That is great. Great guy. Boy was it fun watching him at Marshall. The greatest time ever to be a fan were those two years.

  • Ironic for him to get that well deserved ovation with "work ethic" on the screen behind him....  considering he was often criticized by the sports "gurus" for having a poor work ethic...

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

  • I believe his work ethic was very good as he matured in the NFL.  Heard his football iq was off the charts.

Yeah like when Jordan was criticized for defense and then earned defensive player of the year.  Moss worked hard and when they criticized him for talking plays off he showed them by knocking DBs on their butts blocking downfield for others.  Critics are just that.  They don't give anyone the benefit of the doubt and are usually proved wrong.  I think Moss worked hard and played hard, outside of football.  They saw that and assumed he wasn't carrying his weight.  Have to remember he also was the kind of athlete that was just ready to do what was asked of him without a lot of prep time.  He could just step in and go.

When he wasn?t getting the ball it was still 10 on 8 or 10 on 9 in favor of the offense.  The man drew triple teams at one point in his career.

John Madden who knew a little  football always said throw it to Moss regardless of how many players are covering him , he will go get it.

  • Randy coming to Marshall has to be the greatest gift ever to Marshall.  Such a shame that those in power can?t see the same!  Such a waste to not give the guy the keys to the university.  This is just puzzling.

In college and in the NFL, when he wasn't getting the ball it was because he was double - maybe triple - covered.  That was a non-factor?

  • Deserves all of the accolades...just a great player.

You still have to shake your head at times about his attitude. As a Patriots fan it was sad that he attituded himself out of NE or he would have been a Super Bowl champion eventually. And yes it bothered me that he wore NC Tar Heel gear on draft day and didn't utter the word "Marshall" or anyone at Marshall in his HOF speech. In the end, I think he is a more complex person than people realize and very football smart. Glad Pats fans showed their appreciation.
"Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity; they seem more afraid of life than of death"  – James F. Byrnes

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS
